Vandalism ran far above normal in Canoga Park, Highland Park and Chinatown, and the week closed with freeway closures and a South Bay outage.

54 road hazard reports near Downtown LA, against a usual 8

Across Los Angeles this week, most totals sat close to normal. There were 2,872 road hazard reports against a usual 2,801, and 11,798 vandalism reports, below the normal 14,830. Weather alerts were the exception, at 195 against a usual 108.

The week ended with a busy Sunday. The highway patrol logged a fatal collision at Avalon Boulevard and East 122nd Street in Watts, and Caltrans listed northbound SR-47 closed from Harbor Boulevard to Ferry Street and the southbound 110 carpool lanes closed from 28th Street to Gage Avenue. An Edison outage affecting 11,607 customers near Manhattan and Hermosa Beach stayed on the state list for about 24 hours.
